Goldray Glass, a leader in architectural decorative glass across Canada and the United States, recently introduced its collaborative venture between the company and Corning, an expert in materials science, to expand the design opportunities of Corning’s revolutionary product Corning® Gorilla® Glass. Corning Gorilla Glass is currently the best-in-class cover glass for select smartphones, laptops and tablets, and Corning recently approached Goldray to help expand its innovative product to the architectural decorative glass industry

At Goldray, we like to push the envelope and believe that Corning Gorilla Glass will enable the industry to see traditionally unconsidered spaces in a new light,” says Cathie Saroka, President and CEO of Goldray Glass. “Our collaboration with Corning will give architects and designers the freedom to create breakthrough designs and bring their visions to life. We are looking forward to working with Corning to help redefine the standards of the architectural glass industry.”

Corning® Gorilla® Glass

Remarkably tough and incredibly thin, Corning Gorilla Glass enables progressive new lightweight designs with superior optical performance for interior architecture. Weighing 25 percent of ordinary architectural glass, Corning Gorilla Glass is an excellent option for weight-sensitive applications such as elevator cabs, wall cladding, and even marker boards. The superior optical clarity of the product also creates a powerful canvas that allows images and colors to appear much sharper and more expressive than with traditional glass, giving architects, designers and contractors the ability to transform traditional materials into state-of-the-art architectural finishes.

Goldray’s innovation, excellence and commitment to developing solutions for clients aligns with our values at Corning,” says Anis Fadul; Director, Marketing and Strategic Planning, Emerging Innovations Group at Corning. “This collaborative opportunity leverages our own glass manufacturing expertise as well as Goldray’s specialized skill in decoration, lamination, and design. Together, we’re excited to show the world that the same optical clarity, lightweight, and durability that makes our glass great for display and electronics also brings beauty, elegance and functionality to the architectural market.”
